IN their maiden speeches to the European Parliament both Krisztina Morvai, the leader of Hungary’s Jobbik Party and Nick Griffin, the leader of the British National Party, drew attention to human rights abuses in Hungary.

Mr President
I served as a monitor at commemorations for the 1956 Revolution in Budapest last year, and I can confirm that Dr. Morvai is right to criticise those who fret about Iran while ignoring human rights abuses here in Europe.
