I SPENT several hours this morning going through the voting lists for Motions for Resolution on Enlargement Strategy. (There were 19 amendments to consider, several of which were worth voting for as they would have the effect of making accession more difficult for Turkey). One of the amendments, put forward by the EPP, changed a paragraph to make specific reference to the plight of Christians in Turkey, interestingly UKIP MEPs refused to vote for it.

THE Constituency Office of Nick Griffin MEP has made a Freedom of Information request to Lancashire Police concerning its Operation Engage which has been running for the past four years. Operation Engage is an investigation into very young girls being groomed for sex by older men in Lancashire.

I am preparing the draft of a short speech to use if I can manage to ‘catch the eye’ of the speaker during question time. In the event – perhaps because I had two full minutes in the morning – I do not get called to speak before I have to go to a meeting for Non-Attached MEPs about changes in the rules on the use of the Communications Allowance.
